Save Your Breath 5K Walk or Run
Staying active for yourself while taking action for your community—a win-win. Free ME from Lung Cancer is hosting a Save Your Breath 5K to combat the devastating impacts of lung cancer. It’s a fight the nonprofit organization is passionate about.
Deb Violette, President of Free ME from Lung Cancer, shared, “I have been advocating for change since I was diagnosed with stage III lung cancer in April of 1998. Every five minutes a women is diagnosed with lung cancer. Sadly more than half will not be alive one year from diagnosis. We at Free ME from Lung Cancer have made it our mission to change these statistics through research, support, and education. No one should walk alone with this disease.”
The Save Your Breath event helps supports Free ME from Lung Cancer’s program services. In addition to funding research, they help Maine people get access to early lung cancer screening and help single family low income homeowners get access to radon air abatement systems.
