With gratitude we remember Sister Mary Romuald Bednarczyk, who was a member of St. Joseph Hospital’s founding community, the Felician Sisters for 65 years. She was an integral part of our beginnings and helped St. Joe’s grow into the healing ministry we know today.
Valerie was diagnosed with biliary atresia, a rare, life-threatening liver disease, as an infant. Because of the severe and rapid damage the disease was causing to her liver, Valerie was placed on the national organ transplant waiting list when she was just nine weeks old.
