To close out Penobscot Theatre’ Company’s Main Course series, PTC has commissioned Atlanta based French speaking theatre company, Théâtre du Rêve to create an original work inspired by  Maine poet Henry Wadsworth Longfellow’s epic poem, Evangeline, a Tale of Acadie. Learn more.

ORONO- Mayan Archeoastronomy: Observers of the Universe at Versant Power Astronomy Center
The night is an eye, both dark and bright!  It forces us to look up and ask ourselves questions about our place in the Cosmos, our origins, and what is beyond the horizon.  Using spectacular visuals and stunning sound, audiences tour six ancient Mayan temples: San Gervasio, Chichen Itzá, Uxmal, Edzna, Palenque, and Bonampak. Along the way they dive into Mayan knowledge of the sky exploring the movement of the Sun, the Moon and Venus. Find Balam the Jaguar constellation and explore how the Mayan’s created a calendar more accurate than the one we use in modern times. Journey back in time to explore how The Mayan’s used the sky to understand their world and their place in it! Learn more.

ORONO- Magic Tree House: Space Mission at Versant Power Astronomy Center
Travel with the brother-sister duo, Jack and Annie, in their Magic Treehouse as they discover a note that asks them to answer a series of six questions about space. With the help of an astronomer, the Internet, an astronaut, books and the writer of the mysterious note, Jack and Annie are taken on a wondrous journey of adventure and learning. This exciting voyage will carry visitors to the planets and far out into the Universe where Jack and Annie nearly get… Well, we don’t want to give it away. The adventure is just beginning! WESPORT ISLAND- Kids Birding Walk
Kennebec Estuary Land Trust (KELT) invites families (with children ages 5-12) to join for a morning of investigating our feathered friends of Westport Island, including those that live in the forest, soar through the sky, and feed on the shore. Binoculars and field guides will be made available to attendees, but you are more than welcome to bring your own! Learn more.

HERMON- Touch a Truck
Hermon Fire Department will be at Pleasant Hill Campground to go over fire safety and will be bringing their fire truck for the kiddos to explore. Learn more.

VIRTUAL- The Dog Operas
Finally, something appropriate for ALL members of your household. Made for and by dogs, The Barker of Seville and two other short “pupperas” are the perfect offering for all theatre lovers and their loyal companions.
