Construction Underway at the New Outpatient Service Center!

You know it when you walk through the doors — there’s a welcoming feeling found only at St. Joe’s. Its healing environment was created by the Felician Sisters, a ministry founded on compassion that is shared by every employee, volunteer and care provider. It’s no wonder that at St. Joe’s we respond to 100+ requests each week from people seeking to enroll in one of St. Joe’s primary care practices. To help meet the patient demand for primary care and specialty services, community members like you have come together to raise $4 million to bring to life our vision for the comprehensive Outpatient Service Center at 900 Broadway.

We are pleased to share that construction is underway!

The new building is conveniently located next to our largest primary care facility. Thanks to the generous support of hundreds of donors, a new laboratory, an imaging center and a same-day acute primary care center will be built and opened in the next year.

We are also excited to announce that the new building will be named for former board chair Edward O. Darling and his wife, Mary Ellen Darling. Ed has been a hospital board member for 23 years, and Mary Ellen worked in the hospital lab in high school and returned as a registered nurse. “We are humbled at the naming of this building. St. Joseph’s has been an important part of our lives, and it’s time to give back,” said Ed at the naming ceremony on Oct 1, 2020.

In phase two of the Campaign for St. Joe’s, with assistance from architects of evidence-based design, we will create the patient room of the future. We hope you will join us in this exciting project with a donation to this second phase as we redesign the rooms and the inpatient experience at our hospital.
