Meet James Linehan, The Gallery at 900 Artist

St. Joseph Healthcare Internal Medicine, located at 900 Broadway, is home to The Gallery at 900. This gallery hosts a rotating art exhibit, which is part of a larger Healing Arts program.

On May 28, James Linehan, University of Maine Professor of Art and the Department Chair, became the next artist to be featured at The Gallery at 900! His collection of 15-20 landscape paintings will be on display through August 28 for patients and visitors to enjoy.

About The Artist

James Linehan, University of Maine Professor of Art and Department Chair, is a painter who teaches courses in painting, drawing and design. After receiving a B.F.A. in Painting at Arizona State University in 1974, he continued his studies at the University of Wisconsin-Madison where he earned an M.A. in painting in 1976 and an M.F.A. in 1978. Prior to moving to Maine in 1983, he taught for five years at St. Andrews College in North Carolina. Professor Linehan is represented by Littlefield Gallery in Winter Harbor, Maine. His work has been included in over one hundred group shows and twenty solo shows in the past fifteen years. He has completed twenty public commissions, including fifteen for the Maine Arts Commission Percent For Art Project, and is represented in thirty public and corporate collections.
